This is a thing of the past with the Demag Equipment App. Within the radio range of the hoist, you receive current data in real time on your end device with an iOS or Android operating system.
What hoist data is displayed?
The following hoist data is collected by the Demag Modular Unit (DMU) and transmitted to the DEA. In real time, of course. The data is visually prepared for you and the information can be grasped quickly.

Hoist data directly on the smart device
Within radio range of the hoist unit, authorised users can conveniently configure the parameters using the Demag Equipment App. Approval is only granted to trained users. Changing production requirements can therefore be accommodated quickly.
Hoist operating data is read out in real time when needed and can be compared with historical data. The information is classified by means of a traffic light system and displayed graphically in an easy-to-read manner.
What are the benefits of the Demag Equipment App?
Safety through constant flow of information
The Demag Equipment App further increases safety when using Demag hoist units. The continuous monitoring of safety-relevant hoist components and the monitoring of usage provide information before a standstill or fault becomes imminent. Preventive measures and plannable repairs secure the operating process and increase the availability of the systems.
Avoiding downtime
Preventive maintenance measures increase system availability and ensure greater efficiency in your production. The condition of wearing parts can be viewed by collecting hoist data and, if necessary, preventively replaced. Downtimes for maintenance work can therefore be planned and the availability of your systems is maximised.
Optimum flow of information
Before a scheduled inspection and maintenance, or in the event of a fault, information about the hoist can be called up in a targeted manner without lengthy data searches. Preventive measures, such as operator training, can be coordinated and service personnel can bring the necessary wear and spare parts with them.
Wireless parameterization
With the Demag Equipment App, authorised app users can adjust hoist parameters via wireless connection. Smooth parameterization enables even faster adaptation to changing conditions in the production environment.
Easy commissioning
When the hoist is commissioned, the DEA facilitates the work steps by providing the option of a temporary overload cut-off function in the app. Further parameterizations are also intuitive and can be done directly in the app.
Easier data export for your documentation
If required, the data records can simply be exported in different formats.

The app is available in German, English, French, Spanish and Chinese, expanding the possibilities for preventive maintenance worldwide.
How does data transfer work?
The Demag hoist unit is connected to the Demag Modular Unit (DMU) via CAN bus. The DMU is the connection unit between the hoist and the gateway interface. Trained persons can access the gateway interface with the HealthApp via 3G/4G Wifi signal. The data is stored via a secure and encrypted wireless connection to an APM cloud.
Before using the hoist for the first time, the data connection between the hoist and the end device must be established using one of the two verification methods. Either connect the devices via crane control signal or make a request via an IMEI code. The data flow and storage of the data sets is secured with the latest security features.
How do I install the Demag Equipment App?
The app can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store or Play Store. Use the search term Demag Equipment App to find and download the software. The Demag Equipment App symbol ensures correct allocation. You can choose between the following languages within the app: German, English, French, Spanish and Chinese.
