Handling with ease: Demag Manulift for loads up to 500 kg

Until now, users of Demag chain hoists have been able to handle loads weighing up to 250 kg simply and safely with the DCM-Pro Manulift. The range has now been extended – to include a size DC 5 Manulift that has a load capacity up to 500 kg.

One hand on the load, the other on the crane control system: with conventional chain hoists, the user often needs both hands to lift and guide a load and to position it safely and reliably. If he uses a Demag DC chain hoist in connection a Manulift unit, the crane can be turned into a handling device to move loads horizontally and vertically with just one hand. Its control unit is rigidly connected to the load handling attachment. The operator can guide the load with a central handle and, at the same time, lift and lower the load via integrated rocker switches without having to change the position of his hand. This arrangement enables loads to be handled quickly, precisely and safely with fluid motions.

When they developed the Manulift many years ago, the Demag engineers set real standards for ergonomic load handling and also paved the way for today’s innovations, such as the latest D-Grip manual force control unit. It does not need any switches or buttons for travel commands The load simply follows the operator’s hand movements, who only needs to grasp the control system handle and move it in the required direction.

The DCM-Pro Manulift is used as an efficient handling device in many production and assembly lines and employed in numerous sectors of industry all over the world. An extension to the load capacity range is a logical step in its further development: the DCM-Pro 5 has been added to the standard range of products for loads weighing up to 500 kg. Its metal housing transmits the forces from the load hook to the chain. A special load hook is used as the load handling attachment. The DCM-Pro 5 can be controlled just as easily as the well known smaller Manulift versions for load capacities from 80 to 250 kg. The safety equipment and convenient features of the previously available variants have also been included, such as the slipping clutch with a speed-monitoring function that protects against overloads, as well as the clutch arranged in front of the brake, which reliably prevents loads from dropping abruptly.
