With overhead cranes, the entire hall area is available for production. Overhead cranes are simply attached to existing ceiling structures, removing the need for crane runway supports, so a larger usable area is therefore available. The alternative? Steel construction islands which enable the solution to be adapted to changes in production structures.

Other impressive strengths of the overhead cranes include:
- Sturdy profile-section girder or box-section girder designs as crane bridges for optimal load distribution
- Operation of sub-areas of the hall possible
- Handling the load directly on the hall wall via individual adjustment of the overhangs
- Lateral overhangs for extending the cross-travel beyond the span
- Optionally with DVR rope hoist (up to 80 t) or DC chain hoist (up to 5 t)
